My friend and I were talking on Marco Polo (best app ever). She has the travel bug right now. I told her travel doesn’t appeal to me even a little.
She reflected something back to me. You’re in a season where it isn’t the time to travel. New business. Two puppies. And you and Chad have quite literally built a life with daily awe, wonder, and rest already in it. You stop and smell your roses every morning while cutting someone a bouquet.
As I listened, I thought of this picture I captured. Taken just a couple hours earlier at Monarch Meadows Retreat of a skipper butterfly on my newly planted gomphrena.
You know the meme. Create a life you don’t need a vacation from.
In the middle of a lot (people regularly tell me I’m crazy right now), so many unknowns, a to-do list that feels never-ending, especially with launching Monarch Meadows, I have more peace than I have ever had.
First, that’s God’s grace.
Second, it’s because I have cultivated this life. Every flower. Every caterpillar. Every butterfly. Yes, even the quirky dogs.
These moments of awe, wonder, and rest add up to days full of glimmers in the middle of the a lot and the very hard.
You ought to try it for yourself <3
