Courage isn’t really found in perfect.

You get a driveway selfie in front of my soon to be very full of blooms flower garden today.

No stage photo. No high heels. Visible tattoos. Cute outfit. Full authenticity.

This morning I had the honor of keynoting from one of my favorite stages for 200 people who are being sent back into their circles of influence to lead without the technical title of authority.

And here’s what I told them:
It doesn’t take a title to live into your courage. It takes knowing who you are, living from your values, and choosing the courage work.

I also got to model that live and unplanned.
I clicked to my second slide and realized I had sent the wrong deck.

Which means I gave a keynote. Without my deck. For most of it.

Did it trip me up a little? Of course, I’m human. Could anyone tell? For sure, I have the total inability to be inauthentic.

Because that’s the work.

We make mistakes. We take a breath. We live from our values. We turn toward people rather than away.

No hiding. No blaming. Just doing what I’m hired to do.

Not to impress you. Not to motivate you.

To help you remember how loved you are, and then teach you the skills, the language, and the tools to live from your courage.
No matter what.

So grateful for this morning. I’ll be back on that stage in a couple of weeks.

Maybe next time I’ll remember to take a picture of it.
