One of the most common things I hear after an engagement:
“I’m so thankful they brought someone in from the outside. I feel so cared for, thank you for being here.”
One of the most common emails I receive when we don’t move forward:
“We don’t have the budget this year. We’re going to rely on our internal team.”
Here’s the maybe hard-to-hear truth. And yes, my hot take.
Most of the time, the budget exists.
What’s happening instead is a choice not to invest it back into people.
I understand. There is a lot going on. Everything feels tight. The pressure is real.
What I know for sure, and what I see over and over again, is this:
Organizations that invest in caring for their people, especially through development and training, see a return that goes far beyond numbers.
They retain good talent.
They build teams that care for one another and the mission.
They create cultures where people do the work and actually enjoy doing it.
And don’t think for a second that your team doesn’t notice the lack of investment in their training and wellbeing. They see it. Most of all, they feel it. And it is absolutely affecting their work and your culture.
Invest in your people before it is too late.
Invest In Your People Before It’s Too Late.
