About last night…
A space for those who often feel forgotten.
A space for those grieving.
A space to be angry.
A space to have hope.
A space to receive.
A space to heal.
To turn toward each other and toward God with it all.
Our first In Waiting & Healing: When Your Journey to Parenthood Isn’t As Expected was last night, and to say it was incredibly holy is an understatement.
Thank you, Hannah Nelson, for dreaming this up, for fighting for it, for all your hard work, and for trusting me to be a part of it.
Thank you, Angela Beise, for your courage, your wisdom, your friendship, and for shepherding us so well.
Thank you, Clay Brigance, for your story, your nerd superpowers, for all you do for this community, and for your friendship. It’s been an honor to walk alongside you and Marjorie, even just a little, through your journey.
The hours of planning, of rumbling through how best to serve, friendship, laughter, and true holy presence with you four have been an honor. Thank you. I can’t wait to see what God has for us next.
Thank you to everyone who came. Thank you for sharing your stories with me. Thank you for reminding me that we must continue to speak. And that a story like mine, even in an ending that may not be the most favorite, is valid and oh so good. And most of all, really needs to be shared.
Finally, thank you to The Crossing for trusting us and allowing us to provide this much-needed and nearly always unrecognized community of reproductive trauma a resource to know they aren’t alone, we see them, and God is with them. Thank you for seeing us.
