My email vacation setting was on for a whole week.
I spent quality time with family, chosen and not, and only have one picture to prove it because instead of documenting, I chose presence.
I read two novels.
I watched a movie.
I played in my wildflowers.
I implemented new disconnection practices around less phone time, especially in the morning and at night.
I took long walks every day without music or a podcast playing, just me, my thoughts, and of course, three little dogs and a stroller (a dog one).
I rested.
I was present.
I refilled.
The work waited for me.
And the work will be better served because I took a break.
Because you can’t give what you don’t have.
