Somehow, even though authenticity is what you always get with me, I think sometimes things look so much fancier & way more successful than they feel to me or even actually are.
So here you go. Two numbers:
34,969 – the number of followers I have across all platforms.
4 – the number of online courses I’ve sold so far during launch week.
I’m not sharing this from a place of shame or discouragement. I’m sharing it because there’s a whole lot of courage in showing up, in creating, and in telling the truth, especially when it doesn’t go the way you hoped.
Some courage-soaked lessons I’m carrying this week:
1. Sometimes you do everything the way you’re “supposed to” (hello eight-week marketing plan) and it still doesn’t sell the way you thought it would.
2. Success isn’t necessarily in the numbers sold or the dollars earned.
3. Algorithms are real & very annoying.
4. Budgets are super, super freaking tight right now.
5. The world & life are A LOT right now.
6. Sometimes they just aren’t ready for you.
7. Creating what you love & putting it out into the world comes with sacrifice, beginning again, and not knowing when, how, or if it’ll be “worth it.”
8. I’m done pretending that being real is brave. It is necessary of living a life of courage.
9. Sometimes it’s not about you or your product.
10. Sometimes it absolutely is.
11. When creators ask you to share their work, it takes so much courage, and it helps more than you know.
12. Even if you don’t make back your investment, when your work leaves people better, it’s already done something money can’t measure.
13. It’s a not-yet because God said so. And I trust Him.
14. Come for the one. One is enough. And I got four so far!
Is it a failure? Not even close. I am really proud of this course.
Is it just not the right time? Maybe.
Do I still believe in it? With every fiber of my being.
I’ll keep creating from a place of beloved expectancy, trusting that this work will reach who it’s meant to, when they’re ready.
And if you’re one of the four, I see you. I’m grateful for you.
And if you’ve been waiting, maybe now is your time.
