When someone tells you they are hurt, believe them.
When they tell you’ve caused the hurt, believe them, own your part, do the work to make it right, make reparations, and change.
Yesterday, I posted a piece I wrote about how hate and judgment will not help people meet Jesus on my personal FB. It’s my most reacted to and shared post ever for me. The comment section is filled with pain, hurt, love, courage, and accountability. And although it was very few comments, I still had to remind people of the above lesson.
We have to stop telling people how they feel or that we know more about their lived experiences.
When someone tells you they are hurt, believe them.
When they tell you’ve caused the hurt, believe them, own your part, do the work to make it right, make reparations, and change.
