Boundaried not guarded.
Self-preservation not protection.
This is how I want to live my life.
No matter how the hurts, the losses, and the disappointments, either by life or by people, I will not allow my heart to close off into protection and living guarded. For me, that feels cut off, not okay, not aligned with my values, and simply just not loving.
And so, I will live with good healthy boundaries in order to self-preserve.
To make sure that nothing and no one steals my ability to love well, let in, and live fully.
Because it is only in the connection to ourselves and to others and to something bigger than us that change, growth, healing, and love happen.
