When you do the work to write your own story from wholehearted healing

Grief used to make holiday weekends hard for me. Everyone usually has plans with their families, while it was just Chad and me.

Grief would write the story that I wasn’t enough.

Then comparisons made holiday weekends hard. It felt like everyone was so busy and having so much fun.

So comparison would write the story that we were boring and should be doing more.

It took a hard and dark health crisis for me to write my own story. Of course, it will always include some grief because grief lasts a lifetime.

And yet the story I now write isn’t from grief. Rather, it’s from love, no longer from comparisons, and rather from my wholeness and healing.

It was a simple holiday weekend filled with my favorite beings and my favorite things.

When you do the work to write your own story from wholehearted healing, I think you’ll find you create the life you’ve always wanted and yet maybe never even dared to dream it could be.
