Doing the work and living the change.

A three-and-a-half-hour workshop was about to begin. I sat down to pray over the room as the team caught up with each other, many meeting in person for the first time, and I glanced over.

My breath caught a bit.

A copy of Courage is Built Here™, full of dog-eared pages sitting on top of the workbook I’d created for this company’s specific needs for this workshop.

I smiled, thinking, “This will make a great photo.”

Then the leader then picked it up, flipped through it showing page after page of highlights and notes.

And I couldn’t hold the tears back.

After writing 12 books, after building this curriculum without even knowing that’s what I was doing for the last 25 years after pouring it into a book, a card deck, an online course, and a full three day training I sat there undone by the holy ordinariness of it all.

People read my words.
They mark them up and highlight.
They etch them in their hearts and embed them into their lives.

This leader and his team? They’ve already signed up 15 people to attend the full training in September. As they grow, they know this will care for their people and honor their culture. They’re doing the work. They’re living the change.

And I want the same for you.
