Our own worst enemy no more. Justine Froelker Courage is Built Here

We are our own worst enemy so often.

Our ability to stand in our own way or self-sabotage is something that never surprises me.

We are our own worst enemy so often.

So I started asking myself – how come? Where did we learn this? Who taught us that taking care of ourselves, that pausing and resting, is somehow selfish or weak? When did we start believing that burnout is the price of success? It’s like we’ve been trained to be our own worst enemy.

For me, it was the deep dark of pain and health battles that finally forced me awake.

I’m done with the grind culture that tells us to deny our humanity. I’m done pretending that constantly giving beyond what we have is something to celebrate. I’m tired. And I know I’m not alone in that. We don’t have to reach rock bottom to realize we’re worthy of our own care, love, and well-being. So, I’ll keep teaching and modeling this because we’re worth it. We deserve rest, emotional well-being, and self-love – even when the world says otherwise.

Where did you learn to be your own worst enemy?
And what will you do today to start changing that?
