Stand Tall and Believe

I didn’t know her seed was in my mix when I seeded this front garden where a tree had to be taken down at Monarch Meadows Retreat.

It is the biggest sunflower I’ve ever seen.

Smack in the very middle of the flower bed.

So of course, all sweaty and covered with bug bites, alongside all the buzzing bees, the hums of the hummingbird moths, and the fluttering of countless butterflies, I climbed to the middle and asked my friend to take our picture.

In many ways, I feel like her.
No choice but to stoop down low from the weight, almost as if ready to break.
All the while standing as tall as possible and believing for, fighting for, and declaring joy-filled glory.

Surely, I can find a place on the property for a sunflower patch, stay tuned!
