Like this bouquet, I want to tend to what is here and also trust what is still to come.

A shifting of seasons.

I have an unusual stretch of absolutely nothing days on my calendar, right alongside a long holiday weekend. It also happens to be one of our due dates, they’d be thirteen.

It is a shifting of seasons, literally, and in every other way.

The world feels heavy. And I keep hearing God ask: How will you love?

So I’m going to the source and signing off for a media fast. Putting my phone away to be present. Prayer and worship, reading, WNBA basketball, my brain puzzle book, harvesting seeds for Monarch Meadows Retreat, finalizing Book 14 (my first fiction), Marco Polos with friends (maybe a lunch) and, most of all, resting and being in union with God.

Like this bouquet, cutting back the blooms to make way for the last colors of fall, harvesting some spent seed heads for the future planting of dreams at Monarch Meadows, I want to tend to what is here and also trust what is still to come.

Happy long weekend, friends.
