Little Winston, His Routines, and Ability to Change

Winston has been reminding me lately how much routine helps us thrive, and also how deeply capable of change we really are.

This little dog with very big feelings loves his routine. He knows the exact minute he’s supposed to eat, when it’s time to play, and which kind of play – fetch with me in the afternoon or his washcloth “death shake” with Chad in the evening.

And yet, even with all that structure, he’s shown me that even the most stubborn dog (and yes, the most stubborn person) can change, especially when we desperately need it to be the healthiest, best version of ourselves.

We’ve been doing some new training (thank you @toddlangston), and Winston has shifted so quickly for the better. It’s honestly amazed me.

So the next time you tell yourself that your morning or evening routine doesn’t matter or that you’re stuck in your ways and can’t change?

Remember little Winston.
If he can do it, friend, so can we.
