Choose connection Justine Froelker leadership development

Choose connection.

This morning on my sunrise quiet walk, I passed no less than twenty people, half of them kids waiting for their school bus. I think maybe 4 of them made eye contact with me and said good morning back when I greeted them.

Sure, maybe some didn’t hear me. Sure, maybe some struggle with a diagnosis that makes it hard to connect. And yet, it makes me sad that we literally walk by another human being without even acknowledging their existence.

And we wonder why there is so much shouting and hate across keyboards and screens.

May we find our way back to one another. Look up from your freaking phone. Look humans in the eye again. Say good morning (don’t even get me started on please, thank you, and excuse me). Offer a smile. Choose connection. It’s what we are wired for, and it’s what the world is desperate for.
