People can change.

How often does our own unwillingness to let go prevent healing?

When we choose not to forgive, to hold onto an old narrative, or to allow hurt to define the relationship, we hinder our ability to see the potential for change in others.

People can change.

While sometimes they won’t or don’t want to, we must reflect on how our own feelings may obstruct our view of their efforts.

It’s true that when people show you who they are, you need to believe them. We must also recognize that individuals can evolve and deserve a chance to do so.

While countless opportunities aren’t healthy (hello, boundaries), accountability remains crucial.

May we ensure that our persistent hurt doesn’t impede the path to healing.
